Joe Faro

(Chief Food Taster)

With over 25 years of food experience, Owner Joe Faro grew up appreciating the true artisan craftsmanship behind creating great food. It was this love for authentic Italian cuisine that gave life to Joes first company, Joseph’s Gourmet Pasta and Sauces, a small hand crafted pasta company that began as a business plan in college and took root in the attic of the Faro family Bakery in Haverhill Massachussets.

Through Joe’s leadership and 20 years of consistent growth and innovation, the company became a national leader in its market segment, which ultimately led to Joseph’s Gourmet Pasta and Sauces being acquired by Nestlé Prepared foods in 2006. Through both his heritage and his business, Joe’s frequent travels to Italy and his undying passion for true artistry of Italian food, Tuscan Brands was born.

With this vision, in 2009 he began this massive renovation project to replicate an authentic Tuscan villa right here in Southern New Hampshire. Today, Tuscan Kitchen and Tuscan Market are a true destination for those looking to find Italian food truly prepared “The Artisan Way”.

Edward Payne

(Vice President of Operations)

Eddie started his culinary career at a very young age making pizzas at 13 years old. Upon his graduation from high school, Eddie’s plan was to follow in his father’s footsteps and join the US Airforce. To his surprise, he was awarded a scholarship to go to culinary school at Newbury College in Brookline, Massachusetts. Out of culinary school, Eddie went to work as a cook at the Ritz Carlton where he quickly worked his way up to sous chef & butchery chef. From there, Eddie became Chef de Cuisine at the Bay Tower Room in Boston, opened Anago Bistro in the Lenox Hotel and became Executive Chef of Davios restaurant in Providence, Rhode Island. Eddie was named Rising Star Chef under 30 and also attended the James Beard House in NYC. It was in 2000 that Eddie met Joe Faro, founder of Tuscan Brands, and the rest was history. Starting out as a culinary salesperson for Josephs Gourmet Pasta and Sauces, Eddie quickly rose through the rank and ultimately became National Director of Food Service Sales managing 25 salespeople and 450 foodservice distributors. Joe sold Josephs Pasta in 2006 where Eddie stayed on for 5 years in his role. Today, Eddie is responsible for all operations as well as culinary execution at Tuscan Brands in both Tuscan Kitchen and Tuscan Market concepts.

Timothy Bean

(Chief Financial Officer)

Tim first met Joe and began working with him in the late 90’s at Joseph’s Gourmet Pasta & Sauces. During his time there he played a key role in helping the company become one of the leading artesian food manufactures in the nation. Some of the major projects Tim helped accomplish were acquiring Joseph’s major competitor in the pasta business, acquiring and retrofitting a 92,000 square foot cold storage facility, acquiring and retrofitting a lobster processing facility in Canada, expanding the manufacturing facility’s capacity by more than three times its original capacity, and the eventual sale of the company to Nestle Prepared Foods in 2006. Tim stayed on with the company for a couple years to ensure a smooth transition before joining back up with Joe in 2009 to launch Tuscan Brands. Tim has a great passion when it comes to delivering the best possible product available and understands the need to always innovate.

Before joining Joe, Tim worked for 7 years at Wheelabrator Technologies at various locations throughout New England. Tim received his BS in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell, MBA in Finance from Bentley College, and a Certificate in Financial Planning from Merrimack College.
